How we handle non-slip bath coating in Anchor Corner

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. We work on resurfaced baths, acrylic baths and shower trays, and the jobs we see most are resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

How the visit works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, generally overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How we price non-slip bath coating

Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Anchor Corner. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in Anchor Corner

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

FAQs for Anchor Corner

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

Repairing versus replacing in Anchor Corner

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
