When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Batch

  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths

Non-slip bath coating in Batch without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We work on enamelled baths, acrylic baths and shower trays, and people most frequently call us about bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Batch

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Batch questions

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What do you need from me?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Batch.

Prices and what affects them

We charge the same across the UK, including Batch. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower tray

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Repairing versus replacing in Batch

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Batch. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

The process

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
