Bath repair at your home in BS24

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We’re often asked to fix hairline or through cracks in acrylic and impact holes in acrylic, across acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including BS24. What changes the price is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
