Non-slip bath coating in Biggin without replacing anything

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We’re often asked to fix safety for older or less mobile people and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, on resurfaced baths, wet room floors (ask us) and acrylic baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Your questions about non-slip bath coating in Biggin

How do I clean it?

Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What happens next?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath or shower tray and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repair or replace: which is better?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How we price non-slip bath coating

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Biggin. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

What a repair cannot fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, generally overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

For anyone letting property in or around Biggin, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Common problems we fix in Biggin

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed:

  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

What to look for in a quote

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • When it can be used again
  • What prep work is covered
