How we handle non-slip bath coating in Downton
It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. Whether it’s a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, we can help.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Should you replace it?
The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How the visit works
Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
- The area to be treated is masked out.
- The clear textured coating is applied.
- We remove the masking for a neat edge.
- Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.
Before we arrive
- Make sure the area is dry
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Let us know about parking or access
Ask for a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Advice
What non-slip bath coating costs
We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The material and finish
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Unusual colours or finishes
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- One picture of the entire bath or shower tray
To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

FAQs for Downton
Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?
Very little: it shows as a matt area where you stand.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Is there a call-out fee?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
How do I get a price for non-slip bath coating in Downton?
Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Do you cover the whole of Wiltshire?
Across the UK, and that includes Downton. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
