Dyce: your questions answered

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What does non-slip bath coating cost?

Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Dyce

It suits older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, enamelled baths and resurfaced baths, and people most often call us about a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and safety for older or less mobile people.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes a few hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

For landlords and businesses

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

What non-slip bath coating costs

We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A photo taken from further back

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Enamelled baths

Common problems we fix in Dyce

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

Questions to ask before you book

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
