Non-slip bath coating in Hawy, done in place
The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. We regularly repair shower trays, acrylic baths and enamelled baths, and the jobs we see most are resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Hawy as everywhere else we work. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

When a repair isn’t the answer
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Shower trays
- Enamelled baths
- Resurfaced baths
- Acrylic baths
- Wet room floors (ask us)
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean and degrease the standing area.
- Next we mask off the area.
- The clear textured coating is applied.
- The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
- Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.
How to prepare
- Let us know about parking or access
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

What affects the price in Hawy
We charge the same across the UK, including Hawy. What changes the price is:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The size and number of damaged areas
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Hawy. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Any details about the material
- One picture of the entire bath or shower tray
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
Upload pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your LD1 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Hawy questions
How do I clean it?
Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Hawy included. Travel is included in the price.
Signs you need non-slip bath coating in Hawy
Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
- Safety for older or less mobile people
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
- Worn-out textured areas
What to look for in a quote
- What happens if they find more damage
- Who turns up on the day
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- How soon you can use it again

Work for landlords and builders
If you manage property in Hawy, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will come back with a combined price.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
