  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

Before booking anyone

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Hook-a-Gate

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We’re often asked to fix a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and worn-out textured areas, on resurfaced baths, shower trays and wet room floors (ask us).

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Landlord and trade work in Hook-a-Gate

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

How we price non-slip bath coating

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower tray
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

For a price in Hook-a-Gate, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Your questions about non-slip bath coating in Hook-a-Gate

Do you work in Hook-a-Gate?

We do. We send a technician to Hook-a-Gate for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths

Repair or replace in Hook-a-Gate?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why Hook-a-Gate clients choose us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • One visit for most repairs
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Fixed prices from your photos

Take a look at our prices page.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a few hours.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, generally overnight.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Get a quote
