How we handle non-slip bath coating in Ipswich

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. We regularly repair wet room floors (ask us), shower trays and enamelled baths, and people most often call us about worn-out textured areas and safety for older or less mobile people.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Ipswich

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Prices and what affects them

You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any details about the material
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

What we’re called out for in Ipswich

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

Comparing quotes

  • How long it needs to cure
  • How the colour is matched
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
