About our non-slip bath coating in Penrhys

It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. Common call-outs are for resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and worn-out textured areas, across shower trays, resurfaced baths and acrylic baths.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Common problems we fix in Penrhys

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas

10 questions to ask before you book

Landlord and trade work in Penrhys

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths

Why repair rather than replace?

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Penrhys. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Penrhys clients choose us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Work done at your home or business
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Same prices wherever you are

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Prices and what affects them

There’s no area surcharge for Penrhys. What changes the price is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower tray, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
