Non-slip bath coating at your home in Rhigos

It suits older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We’re often asked to fix worn-out textured areas and safety for older or less mobile people, on wet room floors (ask us), enamelled baths and shower trays.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Rhigos questions

Do you cover Rhigos?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Rhigos. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

How much does non-slip bath coating cost in Rhigos?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Are there extra charges for Rhigos?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When to call us in Rhigos

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Questions to ask before you book

  • How to care for the finish
  • How your room will be protected
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • When it can be used again

Choosing a repair company

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

For anyone letting property in or around Rhigos, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

How we price non-slip bath coating

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed price

Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Repair or replace in Rhigos?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
