Non-slip bath coating in Rode

Repairing versus replacing in Rode

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • No need to remove anything
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Rode

It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. Common call-outs are for safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, in resurfaced baths, wet room floors (ask us) and enamelled baths.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Somerset. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Rode: your questions answered

Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?

Only slightly: it shows as a matt area where you stand.

Are there extra charges for Rode?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you cover Rode?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Rode. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Do you need non-slip bath coating in Rode?

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Before you book anyone

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether they match the colour on site

Choosing a repair company

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Rode

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Prices and what affects them

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower tray
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, usually overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
