Non-slip bath coating near Scotby

Non-slip bath coating in Scotby without replacing anything

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. If you are dealing with safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, we can help.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths

Repair or replace in Scotby?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating adds grip to the bath you have. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Scotby. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What non-slip bath coating costs

We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Quotes from your photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower tray
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
