Non-slip bath coating near Smallbridge

Non-slip bath coating in Smallbridge without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. We’re frequently asked to fix resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people, on shower trays, wet room floors (ask us) and enamelled baths.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Smallbridge: your questions answered

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

How do I clean it?

Yes. Use a soft brush and a mild cleaner.

Do you cover Smallbridge?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Smallbridge. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Work for landlords and builders

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Prices and what affects them

There is no area surcharge for Smallbridge. The price reflects:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price.

What we are called out for in Smallbridge

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What prep work is covered

Our hiring checklist

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
