Non-slip bath coating for Walkergate homes

Non-slip bath coating in Walkergate without replacing anything

It suits older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. We work on resurfaced baths, acrylic baths and wet room floors (ask us), and the jobs we see most are worn-out textured areas and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Common problems we fix in Walkergate

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet

Before you book anyone

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How soon you can use it again

Our hiring checklist

How it works

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take a morning or an afternoon.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, typically overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What non-slip bath coating costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Walkergate. The price reflects:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower tray
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

See our pricing.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Common questions in Walkergate

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Will I see the coating?

Only slightly: it shows as a matt area where you stand.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Do you work in Walkergate?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Walkergate for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
