Non-slip bath coating in Watchmoor

Non-slip bath coating in Watchmoor without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. If you are dealing with safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, we can generally put it right, on shower trays, enamelled baths and acrylic baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

What we can’t put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths

The process

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, typically overnight.

Advice

Signs you need non-slip bath coating in Watchmoor

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas

Prices and what affects them

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Common questions in Watchmoor

Are there extra charges for Watchmoor?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you cover the whole of Surrey?

We cover the entire UK, including Watchmoor and the rest of Surrey. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Will I see the coating?

Only slightly: the treated area looks slightly matt.

Do you come to Watchmoor?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Watchmoor for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you price it without visiting?

Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For landlords and businesses

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
