How we handle non-slip bath coating in Wharfe
It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We regularly repair wet room floors (ask us), acrylic baths and enamelled baths, and people most frequently call us about resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Wharfe: your questions answered
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?
Very little: it shows as a matt area where you stand.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.
Do you cover Wharfe?
We do. Technicians travel to Wharfe from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Which areas do you work in?
All of Lancashire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Prices and what affects them
Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether we combine several jobs
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:
- Something in shot to show the size
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Where you are, by postcode
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
What we do, step by step
Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We clean and degrease the standing area.
- We mask out the area to be treated.
- We apply the clear textured coating.
- We remove the masking for a neat edge.
- We leave it to cure, usually overnight.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Open a window if you can
How to get a price
For a price in Wharfe, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What we’re called out for in Wharfe
Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.
Look out for these signs:
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
- Worn-out textured areas
- Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Why repair rather than replace?
Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Honest limits
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
