Bath and surface repairs in BS23

Based in BS23? Our technicians cover Uphill, Weston-super-Mare and Milton and the rest of the district, repairing in place.

Bath repair at your home in BS23

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the following day. Typical jobs include a chipped rim or side and rust by the waste and overflow, on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel.

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.

Cost

Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

FAQs for BS23

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
