Our bath repair service in EX21
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We work on acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people contact us are deep scratches in acrylic and rust spots around the plughole.
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
What it costs in EX21

What’s near Halwill Junction
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to Church of St Peter and St James, Halwill Community Primary School and Junction Inn.
Repairing versus replacing
Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Typically it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement.
Questions to ask before you book
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- How the room is protected while they work
- Whether a trained technician does the job
For landlords and businesses
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details.
When we’d advise against a repair
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.
Common questions in EX21
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Generally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
How invisible is a bath repair?
We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Do the materials smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Can pets and children be at home?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
