Bath repair at your home in HA2
We’ve repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. Each is repaired in place. We are frequently asked to fix cracks in an acrylic bath and chips on the rim or sides, in whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel.
We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Should you replace it?
People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement.

Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
When we would advise against a repair
A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- A steel bath rusted through
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
Signs you need bath repair
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Holes from dropped items
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Chips under the taps
HA2 questions
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Most baths can be used the day after. We confirm the time before we leave.
When can you do it?
Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Can you price it without visiting?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send photos.
