Our bath repair service in IP16
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We work on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Local landmarks in Leiston
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to Black Horse pub, Summerhill School and Leiston Primary School and the streets around them. Also close by are Alde Valley School (0.5 miles south-east) and Leiston United Reformed Church (less than half a mile east). For rail, the closest station is Saxmundham station, about 3.7 miles west. Well-known places in the area include Hazlewood (2.4 miles south) and Aldeburgh Cottage Hospital (3.8 miles south). Green spaces nearby include Sizewell Belts.
Work for landlords and builders
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Suffolk and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
When a repair isn’t the answer
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
Common questions in IP16
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Do you come to IP16?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to IP16. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.
What happens after I send photos?
You will get a fixed quote back. There’s no obligation to book.
