Bath repair across N8: what to expect
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are rust spots around the plughole and a cracked acrylic bath.
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.
What you will pay
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- How many areas need work
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How hard the colour is to match
- Doing more than one item at once
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- A photo taken from further back
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- What it’s made of, if you know
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
What a repair can’t fix
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that.
Questions to ask before booking
- What aftercare is recommended
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Who turns up on the day
DIY repairs versus a professional job
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
N8: your questions answered
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
What do you need from me?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK, and that includes N8. Our prices are the same everywhere.
When can I have a bath again?
Most baths can be used the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
