Our bath repair service in PR8
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, typically in a single visit. We’re often asked to fix a chip where the taps sit and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, across whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the following day.
Cost
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
What you get with us

- One price list for the entire UK

Landlord and trade work in PR8
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in PR8 as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.
When we’d advise against a repair
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- A steel bath rusted through
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for PR8. What changes the price is:
- What kind of damage it is
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Getting a price from photos
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
How to look after the repair
Aftercare is simple:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
PR8 questions
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Most baths can be used the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Generally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
What happens after I send pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.
