Bath repair for Blowick homes

About our bath repair in Blowick

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the next day. We work on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding, and people most often call us about hairline or through cracks in acrylic and impact holes in acrylic.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How much damage there is

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Blowick. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

Do you need bath repair in Blowick?

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Chips under the taps
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • Who turns up on the day
  • What prep work is covered
  • How soon you can use it again
  • What aftercare is recommended

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Blowick clients choose us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

What we can’t put right

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

FAQs for Blowick

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Do you work in Blowick?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Blowick and the rest of Sefton. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon. We leave the room clean.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
