How bath repair works in RG24
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Common call-outs are for holes from dropped items and rust spots around the plughole, in pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the next day.
What you’ll pay
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What’s near Basingstoke
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to King's Furlong Infant School and Nursery, Cranbourne and Eastrop Park, among other places. You’ll also find The Rising Sun pub (0.5 miles north-east), St Michael's Church (0.5 miles east) and The Costello School (1 mile east). The nearest railway station is Basingstoke station, roughly 0.6 miles east of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Basing House (2.2 miles east) and The Malls (0.6 miles east). Not far away are Farleigh Hill and Daneshill Park Woods.
Honest limits
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- A steel bath rusted through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What kind of damage it is
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A picture taken from further back
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Something in shot to show the size
- One sharp close-up of the damage
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
Landlords, agents and businesses in RG24
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Common questions in RG24
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can you redo an old repair?
Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.
What happens after I send photos?
We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.
What does bath repair cost?
Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.
