Our bath repair service in TA23

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most frequently call us about deep scratches in acrylic and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow two to three hours for most chips. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Cost

Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Near you in Watchet

We visit homes around West Somerset Hotel, Knights Templar Community Church School & Nursery and Baptist Church and Sunday School, among other places. Other landmarks nearby include Bakelite Museum (1.5 miles south).

When a repair is not the answer

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Landlord and trade work in TA23

If you manage property in TA23, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll price them together.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including TA23. The price reflects:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Repair or replace?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
