Bath repair at your home in WS10
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. We are often asked to fix rust spots around the plughole and a chipped rim or side, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
We begin by going over the job with you. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a few hours.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
What you’ll pay
Our bath repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.
What you get with us
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- One price list for the entire UK
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
What’s near Darlaston
Typical jobs here are in homes near The White Lion Public House, Darlaston Community Science College and Willenhall Memorial Park, among other places. Nearby too are Church of St Lawrence (within half a mile north), Grace Academy Darlaston (0.5 miles west) and Old Church Church of England C Primary School (less than half a mile west). The nearest railway station is Darlaston station, roughly 0.8 miles north-east. Further afield, we also cover the area around Bentley Bridge Retail Park (3 miles north-west) and Dorothy Pattison Hospital (1.7 miles north-east). Green spaces nearby include Pouk Hill and Peascroft Wood.
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
Honest limits
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
