About our shower tray repair in Clatterbridge

Shower tray repairs are one of our most common jobs. Chipped edges, cracks and worn finishes can all be put right without removing the tray. We work on enamelled steel, ceramic and cast iron, and common reasons people get in touch are chips or cracks by the plughole and a tray that looks tired however much you clean it.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Clatterbridge and across Wirral.

How much does shower tray repair cost in Clatterbridge?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

How we price shower tray repair

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Clatterbridge. The price comes down to:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed price

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Most clients in Clatterbridge get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Landlord and trade work in Clatterbridge

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it is not: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. A repair is one visit. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Repairs by material

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Chips can rust if they’re left, so it’s worth repairing early.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are heavy and rigid with a gel-coat finish. They crack if the base is not fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Do not use strong acids or bleach
  • Ventilate the room after showers
  • Stick to gentle cleaners
  • Replace failing sealant promptly

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, to avoid chips.

Do not keep using a cracked tray. Water may be getting under the tray, where it causes damage you can’t see.

What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
  • A tray that moves underfoot
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Cast iron
  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin
  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel

What happens on the day

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First, we check whether the tray moves.
  2. We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
  3. We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
  4. We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
  5. We leave it to cure, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Ask for a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
