Trusted shower tray repair in Cornelly

Shower tray repair in Cornelly without replacing anything

You do not always need a new tray. If it’s solid underneath, it can typically be repaired in place, which is far less work than a replacement. Typical jobs include scuffs and light scratches and damage from a refit or building work, on acrylic, ceramic and stone resin.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Cornelly as everywhere else we work.

Should you replace it?

A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it isn’t: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. Repairing it takes one visit. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We make sure the tray does not flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the whole tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. The repair is colour matched, or the entire tray gets a new finish.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can normally be used the next day.

Preparing for the visit

Advice

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. A flat, solid base is essential, and we match repairs to the surface finish.

Acrylic

Acrylic trays are lighter and slightly flexible, so a firm base is essential. We repair cracks and scratches.

What we are called out for in Cornelly

A tired-looking tray is frequently the result of years of cleaning: abrasive pads, strong chemicals and limescale wear the finish away.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Snagging damage in a new bathroom
  • Staining and dullness across the tray
  • Damage around the waste
  • Scratches in the surface

Questions to ask before booking

  • What preparation is included
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Questions from Cornelly

How do I book?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple:

  • Stick to gentle cleaners
  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Ventilate the room after showers

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, to avoid chips.

If the tray creaks or moves, get it checked, before it cracks or gets worse.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
  • Trays cracked in several places
  • A tray that moves underfoot

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
