Book shower tray repair in Egypt

Shower tray repair in Egypt, done in place

You do not always need a new tray. If it’s firmly supported, we can repair it where it is, which is far less work than a replacement. Our technicians work on stone resin, enamelled steel and ceramic, and the jobs we see most are a tray that flexes and a damaged area around the waste.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Egypt as everywhere else we work.

What a repair can’t fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • A tray broken in more than one place
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • Plumbing leaks under the tray

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Egypt

  • Cast iron
  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin
  • Ceramic

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach
  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Check the seal every few months

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, so they can’t be knocked over.

A small crack lets in a little water every time you shower, which can damage the floor over time. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Egypt. The price reflects:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material and finish

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Different materials, different repairs

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. They need a flat, solid base, and repairs are matched to the gel coat.

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

Landlord and trade work in Egypt

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Egypt as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We check the tray for movement first.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned and opened up.
  3. Cracks are reinforced and the damage filled.
  4. We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
  5. We leave it to cure, normally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Why repair rather than replace?

A new shower tray usually means taking out the enclosure and tiles, preparing a new base and tiling again. A repair or resurface leaves all of that alone. Prices start from £95. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
