Most tray damage can be repaired in place, from a chip by the waste to a crack across the base. We match the colour and finish so the repair blends in. We’re frequently asked to fix a damaged area around the waste and snagging damage in a new bathroom, in cast iron, ceramic and acrylic.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

Landlord and trade work in Gadfa

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First, we check whether the tray moves.
  2. We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
  3. We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
  4. The repair is shaped, colour-matched and finished.
  5. We leave it to cure, normally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the shower tray, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
