About our shower tray repair in Green Parlour

The first thing we do is check the tray: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, or the crack will come back. We’ll tell you if that is the case. If you’re dealing with a damaged area around the waste and a dull, stained or worn surface, we can help, on acrylic, ceramic and cast iron alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

Do you need shower tray repair in Green Parlour?

Trays crack mainly because they move: without a solid, level base underneath, it flexes each time someone stands on it. Chips normally come from dropped bottles.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Cracks running from the waste
  • Chips on the edges
  • Snagging damage in a new bathroom
  • Movement when you stand on it

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How soon you can use it again
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Stick to gentle cleaners
  • Don’t stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Check the seal every few months

Keep an eye on the sealant, and replace it when it splits or goes black.

Don’t keep using a cracked tray. Water may be getting under the tray, where it causes damage you cannot see.

What shower tray repair costs

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Trays cracked in several places
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Stone resin
  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic
  • Ceramic
  • Cast iron

Green Parlour questions

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first.

Do you redo the sealant?

Yes. Add it to your quote and we will do both on one visit.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Repair or replace in Green Parlour?

Replacing a tray normally means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. A repair leaves all of that untouched. Prices start from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Green Parlour clients choose us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

What your shower tray is made of matters

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so good support matters. Cracks and scratches can be repaired.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, tidy-up included.

  1. First, we check whether the tray moves.
  2. We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
  3. We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
  4. The repair is shaped, colour-matched and finished.
  5. It’s left to cure, typically until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Ask for a price

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Green Parlour, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
