Shower tray repair near Harvington

About our shower tray repair in Harvington

Stone resin, acrylic and ceramic trays can all be repaired, or resurface the whole tray if it’s worn. Nothing is taken out, so the enclosure and tiles aren’t disturbed. We work on stone resin, enamelled steel and cast iron, and people most frequently call us about movement when you stand on it and damage from a refit or building work.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

The process

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the whole tray.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can generally be used the day after.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Leaking waste fittings

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron
  • Stone resin
  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Get a moving tray checked
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, so they cannot be knocked over.

Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.

How we price shower tray repair

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

For a price in Harvington, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When to call us in Harvington

Heavy bottles, shower heads and dropped razors chip trays, typically along the edges or by the waste.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Damage from a refit or building work
  • Damage around the waste
  • A tray that creaks or moves underfoot
  • Chips on the edges

What to look for in a quote

  • Aftercare advice
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

Our hiring checklist

FAQs for Harvington

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Can a stained tray be refinished?

Yes, it’s a common job. Resurfacing gives a worn tray an even, clean finish.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Can you quote from photos?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tray normally involves removing the screen and tiling, preparing a new base and tiling again. A repair or resurface leaves all of that alone. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
