Repairing versus replacing in High Town
When the tray is firm and dry underneath, repair is the obvious choice. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why High Town clients choose us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- One visit for most repairs

Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic trays are lighter and slightly flexible, so good support matters. We repair cracks and scratches.
Stone resin
Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. They crack if the base isn’t fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.
Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in High Town as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Check the seal every few months
- Get a moving tray checked
- Do not use strong acids or bleach
- Do not stand heavy bottles on the tray
Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and reseal when it starts to fail.
Every shower forces a little water into a crack, which can damage the floor over time. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.
Common problems we fix in High Town
Dull and stained trays are generally down to cleaning: limescale, harsh chemicals and abrasive pads wear the finish away.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Scuffs and light scratches
- A dull, stained or worn surface
- Chips on the edges
- A cracked shower tray

How it works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, including clearing up.
- First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
- Next we clean and prepare the tray.
- We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
- We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
- We leave it to cure; the shower is usually usable the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know about parking or access

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
