Shower tray repair in Laide, done in place

Every crack has a cause, and we find it first. If the tray moves, the support is fixed or flagged before we repair it, so the crack does not come back. We regularly repair acrylic, stone resin and ceramic, and the jobs we see most are a tray that creaks or moves underfoot and a dull, stained or worn surface.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated
  • Don’t stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach

Rinse the tray down after showering, clean with mild cleaners, and keep the sealant in good condition so water can’t get underneath.

Don’t keep using a cracked tray. Water may be getting under the tray, where it causes damage you cannot see.

What affects the price in Laide

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • The material
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How to get a fixed price

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A photo taken from further back

Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Laide, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. A flat, solid base is essential, and we match repairs to the surface finish.

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Chips can rust if they’re left, so early repairs help.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Laide

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Repair or replace in Laide?

When the tray is firm and dry underneath, repair is the obvious choice. If the floor is damaged or the tray is badly cracked, replacement may make more sense. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

FAQs for Laide

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

How do I get a price for shower tray repair in Laide?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you cover Laide?

We do. Technicians travel to Laide from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the whole tray.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can generally be used the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire shower tray, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
