About our shower tray repair in North Camp

We check the tray before repairing it: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, otherwise any crack returns. We will tell you if that’s the case. Common call-outs are for a tray that looks tired however much you clean it and chipped corners or rims, on enamelled steel, stone resin and acrylic.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

North Camp questions

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What happens after I send photos?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Ceramic
  • Cast iron
  • Stone resin
  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic

Why repair rather than replace?

A new shower tray frequently means a new enclosure fitting, new tiling and new sealant. Repairing it avoids all of that. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why North Camp customers choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so a firm base is essential. Cracks and scratches can be repaired.

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

What affects the price in North Camp

Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for North Camp. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the whole shower tray
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

If you’re in North Camp and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Ventilate the room after showers
  • Report any creaking or movement early
  • Rinse away soap after showering
  • Check the seal every few months

Keep an eye on the sealant, and reseal when it starts to fail.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water may be getting under the tray, where it causes damage you can’t see.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. The repair is colour-matched, or the whole tray gets a new finish.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can usually be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
