How we handle shower tray repair in Page Hall

The first thing we do is check the tray: if it flexes underfoot, the cause needs sorting before any repair, otherwise any crack returns. We’ll tell you if that’s the case. Typical jobs include damage around the waste and snagging damage in a new bathroom, on enamelled steel, stone resin and ceramic.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Do not ignore a tray that flexes
  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Rinse away soap after showering
  • Stick to gentle cleaners

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

Act on split sealant early. Water gets behind and under the tray and can cause damage underneath.

Page Hall: your questions answered

Is it OK to use a cracked tray?

We’d stop using it until it’s repaired, because water may be getting underneath.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Do you come to Page Hall?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Page Hall and the rest of Sheffield. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send photos.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can a stained tray be refinished?

Yes. We can resurface the entire tray for a fresh finish without removing it.

What we’re called out for in Page Hall

Rigid trays don’t bend, they crack if the floor beneath them isn’t flat and fully supported. Timber floors that move can cause it too.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Chipped corners or rims
  • Damage around the waste
  • A tray that flexes
  • A dull, stained or worn surface

Choosing a repair company

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Sheffield and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Different materials, different repairs

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Chips can rust if they’re left, so it’s worth repairing early.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new tray can be cheap, but fitting it isn’t: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. Repairing it takes one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

When we would advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • A tray that moves underfoot
  • A tray broken in more than one place
  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin
  • Cast iron

How the visit works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the floor and the enclosure.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. The surface is refinished to match.
  5. We clean up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know about parking or access
