About our shower tray repair in Ringlestone

The first thing we do is check the tray: if it flexes underfoot, the cause needs sorting before any repair, or the crack will come back. We’ll explain what we find. If you are dealing with a tray that looks tired however much you clean it and chipped corners or rims, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

When we would advise against a repair

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron
  • Stone resin
  • Acrylic

Ringlestone: your questions answered

What happens after I send photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Is it OK to use a cracked tray?

It’s best to stop using it until it’s checked, because water may be getting underneath.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can a stained tray be refinished?

Yes, it’s a common job. A full resurface makes a tired tray look fresh.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Are there extra charges for Ringlestone?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated
  • Do not stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach
  • Rinse the tray after each shower

Wait the full curing time before you shower. After that, gentle cleaning and good ventilation keep it in good shape.

Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tray generally means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. A repair leaves all of that untouched and costs far less. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

Why us?

  • Work done at your home or business
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • No extra charge for your area

Repairs by material

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. The repair is colour-matched, or the entire tray gets a new finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, you can use the shower.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Ringlestone. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the whole shower tray
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
