Shower tray repair for Saints homes

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Shower tray repair at your home in Saints

Every crack has a cause, and we find it first. If the tray moves, the support is fixed or flagged before we repair it, so the repair lasts. We work on ceramic, acrylic and enamelled steel, and people most frequently call us about chips on the edges and scratches from cleaning or grit.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

How we price shower tray repair

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. You can expect it to take a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. The damaged area, or the whole tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is normally usable the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Repair or replace in Saints?

When the tray is firm and dry underneath, repair is the obvious choice. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron
  • Ceramic
  • Acrylic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Stone resin

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Stick to gentle cleaners

Keep heavy bottles off the tray floor, so they cannot be knocked over.

Failed sealant around a tray should be replaced quickly. Water gets behind and under the tray and can damage the floor below.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Stone resin

Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. They crack if the base isn’t fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.
