Shower tray repair near St Helens

Shower tray repair at your home in St Helens

You don’t always need a new tray. If it’s solid underneath, it can normally be repaired in place, which is far less work than a replacement. Typical jobs include chips or cracks by the plughole and chipped corners or rims, on ceramic, acrylic and cast iron.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Different materials, different repairs

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new shower tray normally involves removing the screen and tiling, preparing a new base and re-tiling. Repairing or resurfacing the tray keeps all of that in place. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The type of damage
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for St Helens. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the photos on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • Trays cracked in several places

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Your questions about shower tray repair in St Helens

Do you redo the sealant?

Yes. We can repair and reseal on the same visit.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Do you cover the entire of St Helens?

We cover the entire UK, including St Helens and the rest of St Helens. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

How the visit works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, tidy-up included.

  1. We ensure the tray does not flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is normally usable the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your WA9 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Don’t stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, so they can’t be knocked over.

Failed sealant around a tray should be replaced quickly. Water gets behind and under the tray and can cause damage underneath.
