Shower tray repair near Stanley Common

Shower tray repair at your home in Stanley Common

Shower tray repairs are one of our most common jobs. Chips by the waste, cracks across the base and dull, stained surfaces can all be put right without removing the tray. We regularly repair stone resin, acrylic and ceramic, and the jobs we see most are a tray that flexes and damage from a refit or building work.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

Discoloured square shower tray restored with a new white finish

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the entire tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the entire tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is normally usable the following day.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repair or replace in Stanley Common?

Trays sit under the screen and tiles, so replacing one disturbs a lot around it. Repairing it avoids that disruption. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin
  • Cast iron
  • Enamelled steel

Repairs by material

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. A flat, solid base is essential, and we match repairs to the surface finish.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Chips can rust if they’re left, so it’s worth repairing early.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the whole shower tray

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
