How we handle shower tray repair in Western Park

Stone resin, acrylic and ceramic trays can all be repaired, and worn trays can be resurfaced completely. The tray stays in place, so the screen and tiling stay as they are. We work on acrylic, enamelled steel and ceramic, and common reasons people contact us are edge chips from dropped bottles and scuffs and light scratches.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface in most cases. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the whole tray.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the entire tray.
  5. The tray is left to cure and can normally be used the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not use strong acids or bleach
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Store bottles off the tray
  • Rinse away soap after showering

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid do the job.

Do not keep using a cracked tray. Water can get through to the floor and walls, where it causes damage you can’t see.

Common problems we fix in Western Park

Dull and stained trays are normally down to cleaning: abrasive pads, strong chemicals and limescale strip the surface finish.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • Chips on the edges
  • Damage around the waste
  • Scratches from cleaning or grit

Questions to ask before booking

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • How soon you can use it again
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Questions from Western Park

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can a cracked shower tray be repaired?

In most cases. A tray that moves needs its support sorting before the repair.

How much does shower tray repair cost in Western Park?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Different materials, different repairs

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Western Park. The price depends on:

  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs

Most customers in Western Park get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Landlord and trade work in Western Park

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Western Park as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

When we’d advise against a repair

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
