How we price shower tray repair

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Wicklewood. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size

Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your NR18 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you are not left guessing. On site, it takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is usually usable the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
  • Trays cracked in several places
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Stone resin
  • Cast iron
  • Ceramic
  • Acrylic
  • Enamelled steel

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Wicklewood as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the tray is firm and dry underneath, repair is the obvious choice. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

Repairs by material

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. Impacts can chip or crack them, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Stick to gentle cleaners
  • Don’t use strong acids or bleach
  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated
  • Rinse away soap after showering

Store heavy bottles on a shelf, not on the tray, to avoid chips.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water may be getting under the tray, and the damage below is not visible.
