Do you redo the sealant?

Yes. We can repair and reseal on the same visit.

What we are called out for in Willesborough

Stone resin trays are rigid, so they crack rather than bend when they sit on an uneven or poorly supported floor. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.

Common reasons people in Willesborough contact us include:

  • Scuffs and light scratches
  • Chips caused during fitting
  • Chips on the edges
  • Cracks running from the waste

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Willesborough as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Aftercare tips

To keep it looking its best:

  • Store bottles off the tray
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray
  • Do not ignore a tray that flexes
  • Use the extractor fan

Keep heavy bottles off the tray floor, to avoid chips.

Act on split sealant early. Water gets behind and under the tray and can damage the floor below.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A tray that moves underfoot
  • Trays cracked in several places
  • Leaking waste fittings

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Stone resin
  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron
  • Acrylic

Why repair rather than replace?

A new shower tray often means a new enclosure fitting, new tiling and new sealant. A repair leaves all of that untouched, at a fraction of the cost. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We leave the room as we found it

How the visit works

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First we check the tray is solid and work out why any crack happened.
  2. We clean and prepare the damaged area or the entire tray.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. The repair is colour-matched, or the whole tray gets a new finish.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is generally usable the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire shower tray, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
