Shower tray repair near Wollerton

Shower tray repair in Wollerton without replacing anything

Before repairing a crack, we find out why it happened. If the tray moves, the support is fixed or flagged before we repair it, so the crack doesn’t come back. We are frequently asked to fix cracks running from the waste and damage from a refit or building work, in stone resin, enamelled steel and acrylic.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Your questions about shower tray repair in Wollerton

Do you redo the sealant?

We can. After a repair is a good time to reseal.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can you make an old tray look new?

Yes. Resurfacing gives a worn tray an even, clean finish.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can a cracked shower tray be repaired?

Frequently. If the tray moves, the support needs fixing first.

When to call us in Wollerton

Most chips come from things dropped in the shower, typically on the edges or near the plughole.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A cracked shower tray
  • Damage around the waste
  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • Damage from a refit or building work

Before you book anyone

  • How long it needs to cure
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How changes to the job are handled

10 questions to ask before you book

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Avoid strong descalers and bleach
  • Don’t stand heavy bottles on the tray

Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and reseal when it starts to fail.

A small crack lets in a little water every time you shower, and over months that can rot the floor. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Wollerton as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repairing versus replacing in Wollerton

A new shower tray often means a new enclosure fitting, new tiling and new sealant. Repairing it avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

Different materials, different repairs

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

Stone resin

Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. They crack if the base is not fully supported, and chips are filled and matched to the surface.

How it works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. The damaged area, or the whole tray, is cleaned and prepared.
  3. Chips and cracks are filled, reinforced and sanded level.
  4. The repair is colour matched, or the entire tray gets a new finish.
  5. Once cured, generally by the day after, you can use the shower.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

How to get a price

  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
