Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a basin can mean a plumber, new taps or wastes and repairs to the tiles or vanity unit. A repair leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
What you get with us

Sink repair in Sutton without replacing anything
Whether it’s a chipped rim or a crack by the tap holes, basin damage is normally repaired in place. The taps stay connected and the basin stays on the wall. Typical jobs include an antique basin with chips and cracks around the tap holes or waste, across ceramic & vitreous china basins, antique & period basins and Belfast and butler sinks.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- A loose basin, until it’s refixed
- Leaks from the fittings
- Glaze crazing across the whole basin, where resurfacing is better

DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Do not overtighten taps
- Do not rest hot hair tools on the basin
- Have new chips repaired quickly
- Avoid abrasive pads
Keep hair straighteners and heavy bottles away from the basin edge, to avoid new chips.
An unrepaired chip soon stains, so the sooner it’s repaired, the better.
For landlords and businesses
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Repairs by material
Vitreous china
Ceramic basins have a fired, glassy surface. Repairs are polished to match that glaze.
Composite and resin
Cast mineral and resin basins are common in vanity units. Chips and scratches can be filled and matched, with colour mixed on site.
How it works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours for most chips. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- First, we check the basin is firm and dry.
- The area is degreased and keyed.
- Filler is built up and sanded flush.
- We match the colour and the gloss.
- We tidy up and give you the curing time.
How to prepare
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
