Tile repair for Bawdrip homes

Landlord and trade work in Bawdrip

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Tile repair in Bawdrip, done in place

A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. Common call-outs are for chips from dropped pans and tools and drill holes from removed fittings, on natural stone & granite, marble and floor and wall tiles.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Repair or replace in Bawdrip?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Our tile repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

How to prepare

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Bawdrip questions

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Are there extra charges for Bawdrip?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What about drill holes in tiles?

Yes. We fill drill holes from removed fittings.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do you come to Bawdrip?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Bawdrip. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Bawdrip. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Common problems we fix in Bawdrip

Floor tiles chip when pans, tins and tools are dropped, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • Damaged tile edges
  • Cracked floor tiles
  • Drill holes from removed fittings
  • Chips from dropped pans and tools

Questions to ask before you book

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How long it needs to cure
  • If travel is included in the price
  • What aftercare is recommended

Choosing a repair company

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

When a repair is not the answer

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
