Questions from Glastonbury
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Do you come to Glastonbury?
We do. Technicians travel to Glastonbury from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Do the materials smell?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
How soon can you come?
We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
What information do you need?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Tile repair at your home in Glastonbury
A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. The tile stays where it is, so you don’t need to find a spare. Common call-outs are for discontinued tiles you can’t replace and cracked floor tiles, in porcelain tiles, floor and wall tiles and natural stone & granite.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Somerset. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

How the visit works
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.
- We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
- The chip, crack or hole is filled.
- We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
- The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
- The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.
Getting ready for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Open a window if you can

Advice
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How much damage there is
- The type of damage
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Glastonbury. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Where you are, by postcode
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
What we’re called out for in Glastonbury
Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, while walls end up with drill holes from old fittings. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Discontinued tiles you cannot replace
- Cracked floor tiles
- Damaged tile edges
- Drill holes from removed fittings
What to look for in a quote

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What a repair cannot fix
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
- Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
- Whole walls of failing grout
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Natural stone & granite
- Floor and wall tiles
- Marble
- Porcelain tiles
- Ceramic tiles
Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
