Tile repair near Box

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

How we handle tile repair in Box

We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. Whether it’s chips from dropped pans and tools and cracked floor tiles, we can help, on ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles and floor and wall tiles alike.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Box and across Wiltshire. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

For landlords and businesses

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the tiled area, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Advice

Box: your questions answered

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Typically, if it is not loose.

Are there extra charges for Box?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Honest limits

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Marble
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Natural stone & granite

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Common problems we fix in Box

Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, while walls end up with drill holes from old fittings. Cracks can also come from movement in the floor below.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Discontinued tiles you can’t replace
  • Cracked floor tiles
  • Damaged tile edges
  • Drill holes from removed fittings

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How your room will be protected
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Box. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the whole tiled area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
