Tile repair near Casmael

About our tile repair in Casmael

A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. We’re often asked to fix drill holes from removed fittings and chips from dropped pans and tools, across ceramic tiles, natural stone & granite and porcelain tiles.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

FAQs for Casmael

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Casmael included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping out a damaged tile means breaking it out, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • No need to remove anything

Landlord and trade work in Casmael

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What affects the price in Casmael

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

How to prepare

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
